Nine Days Ivory Coast Safari Holiday
The highlights of this holiday includes witnessing the ceremonial dances of the Baulè, Explore the city of Abidjan, Discover the rituals symbols of Ivorians
Day One: Arrival in Abidjan
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris who will then transfer you to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight at Ibis Abidjan Plateau or similar
Day Two: Abidjan to Man
After breakfast, you will drive to Man, the town of 18 mounts. We will stop at the village of Gbelpeu where the Dan and Yacouba people will welcome you in a beautiful traditional style. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Les cascades or similar
Day Three: Biankouma
On this day after breakfast, you will visit Biankouma, an old Yacouba – Dan village. At the village, you will see the colorfully painted houses, the house of the initiated women, and observe the fetish priests. You will have an opportunity to interact with the elder of the village. After lunch, visit the village of Blole where you can participate in a mask dance (Glah and Temate). You will also witness the dance performed by young females Dinner and overnight at hotel Les cascades or similar.
Day Four: Man to Daloa and Yamoussoukro
For this day,you will drive to Daloa. Upon arrival, you will visit the monkey village where you can see monkeys interacting with people. The town is also a trade center a chief collecting Cocoa, nuts, and rice. En route to Yamoussoukro where we shall visit the largest Our Lady of peace basilica in the world. Dinner and overnight at Hotel President or similar.
Day Five: Yamoussoukro to Korhogo
Today you will drive to the village of Kondéyaokro. Then attend an initiation of Goli masks. Continue to Korhogo, in Senoufo country. Arrive Korhogo late afternoon and proceed to Tioro for the initiation dance of fire eaters, called Djinangoro. Tour the village of Tioro.Dinner and overnight at Complexe Olympe Hotel or similar
Day Six: Korhogo
You will visits the sacred rock and the fetish hut in the village of Niofoin. Continue to Boundiali and visit Peulh’s village. Here you may see the traditional N’goro dance. Proceed to the village of Dozo the traditional hunters of Côte d’Ivoire. before the sunset return to Korhogo. Dinner and overnight at Complexe Olympe Hotel or similar.
Day Seven: Korhogo to Toumodi
Today you will drive to Toumodi with a stop at Bouake, visit Cathedral Saint Michel, Bouake, Vallee du Bandama Region, try local foods and drinks such as foutou, bandji. You will also have a chance to visit the organic cocoa plantations and latex plantations. The proceed to Tomoudi. Dinner and overnight at Villa in Toumodi or similar.
Day Eight: Toumodi to Grand Bassam, the Abidjan
On this day, you will visit “the Fanico”. The “Fanico” are “washer men” that work closely together in the middle of a stream to wash clothes. This is done solely by men. We will continue to Grand Bassam a Unesco heritage where we shall visit and explore the colonial buildings, the first catholic church in Ivory Coast, and enjoy the panoramic city tour before continuing to Abidjan. Dinner and overnight at Ibis Abidjan Plateau or similar.
Day Nine: Abidjan and fly out
After breakfast, the guide will transfer you to the airport depending on your flight time to connect back home.
