Day One: Arrival in Cape Twon
Upon your arrival at the airport, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will welcome you and then transfer you to the hotel for the overnight.
Day Two: Cape Town
After breakfast, you will visit the Table Mountain for a cable-car ride to the top for stunning views of the city, Robben Island, and the Cape Winelands. Then, take a scenic drive south via Chapman’s Peak Drive. Continue on to Cape Point Nature Reserve for stops at the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point, the south western most point on the African continent. Here, take a funicular ride to the steps of the old lighthouse for spectacular panoramic views. Return to Cape Town and enjoy the evening at your leisure.
Day Three: Cape Town
This morning, you will to explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, take an excursion to the stunning Cape Wine lands for wine tasting, or go whale watching in nearby Hermanus best between June and October.
Day Four: Stony Point Nature Reserve to Hermanus-Mossey Bay
You will depart Cape Town and drive to Stony Point Nature Reserve to see a colony of endangered African Penguins. These penguins grow to an average height of two feet and live in burrows and rock crevices along the beach. Stop in Hermanus for exploration before reaching Mossel Bay for the evening.
Day Five: Mossey Bay, Oudtshoorn to Knysna
On this day, you will drive north to Oudtshoorn. Stop for a guided tour to the Cango Caves with its stunning limestone rock formations. You will also visit a local ostrich farm then continue on to Knysna.
Day Six: Tsitsikamma National Park
This morning after breakfast, you will explore Tsitsikamma National Park for a walk through the spectacular indigenous coastal forest to the mouth of the Storms River. Cross the famous suspension bridge for views of the coastline and to see the Storms River Mouth Cave. Later return to Knysna for time to explore the waterfront on a boat cruise to see local marine life.
Day Seven: Knysna, Gqeberha, Durban, Uhhlanga
Today, you will drive to Gqeberha for your flight to Durban. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in the Umhlanga Rocks area for the evening.
Day Eight: Umhlanga to Mkuze
For this day, you will drive to Mkuze in the heart of Zululand. After lunch, travel to the Lebombo mountains for a walk to interact with local Zulu people and learn about their customs in this rural community.
Day Nine: Mkuze
You will go for the game drive in Mkuze Game Reserve, the oldest proclaimed wildlife reserve in all of Africa. Look out for lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo, giraffe, zebra, black and white rhino. In the afternoon go for the boat ride on Lake Jozini to spot hippo, Nile crocodile, elephant, and a variety of bird life.
Day Ten: Mkuze to Mhlambanyatsi – Eswatini
On this day, you will drive to eSwatini. En route, stop at a local market and visit a glass factory where glass blowers use recycled glass to create stemware, animals, and more.
Day Eleven: Eswatini to Kruger National Park
After breakfast, depart eSwatini and head north for the Kruger area. Enjoy leisure time at your lodge this afternoon.
Day Twelve: Kruger Area
This morning, you will go for the game drive with an experienced guide. Look out for kudu, impala, giraffe, cheetah, spotted hyena, and more on your afternoon game drive. Return to your lodge for dinner. Enjoy leisure in the afternoon at the lodge.
Day Thirteen: Kruger to Victoria – Zimbabwe
On this day, you will leave South Africa and fly north to Zimbabwe. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy some leisure time.
Day Fourteen: Victoria Falls
You will visit the Victoria Falls and enjoy a guided walk, where you will learn the history of the falls and hear fascinating details about the surrounding flora and fauna. In the evening, take a boat cruise on the Zambezi River.
Day Fifteen: Victoria Falls
Have a full day at leisure at the lodge or go for the optional helicopter flight over the falls or take a day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana.
Day Sixteen: Victoria to Johannesburg
After breakfast, take a flight back to Johannesburg to connect to your flight back home.
