2 Days Gambia Wassu stones Excursion

Embark on 2 days to discover the famous Wassu stones and the Georgetown capital and historic sites

The highlights for the excursion include Discovering the famous wassu story and learn the history behind the stores, Explore the batalong island, Vist the historic sites and landmarks in Georgetown

Day One: Banjul to Wassu Stones 

After breakfast, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will pick you from the hotel and proceed to Georgetown. Take a local ferry to Barra. We follow the north bank of the River Gambia, making a market stop at Farafenni, visit the mysterious stone circles at Wassu to learn the history behind the stones. Later you will have a picnic lunch before cruising further down the river Gambia where we might see Hippos and, Crocodiles. We pass baboon island keeping a sharp eye for Chimpanzees that live on the reserve. Dinner and overnight at Baobolong camp.

Day Two: Baobolong to George Town

After breakfast then we go to Georgetown taking in the sights and discover what was once the Gambia’s Capital on our return across to the south bank you will visit a school and a local family Lunch is at Tendaba camp on the bank of the river Gambia also known as Bird Paradise. Before the sunset, we will proceed back to Banjul and drop you off at the hotel.
