Excursion of Banjul
This excursion is for those of you who want to experience to explore city of Banjul. You will visit Kachikally Crocodile pool, Serekunda market and the wood carving factory in Brikama, and historic sites in Banjul
Serrekunda
The guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will pick you up from the hotel. Then visit Serrekunda, which is the largest town in the country. Visit the tie and dye batik factory owned by a Gambian lady called MUSU KEBBA DRAMMEH who has been in this job for over 30 years. Here we witness a display of the production of the batik. An hour is given to everyone to look around if shopping is needed. Prices here are very reasonable and prices can be negotiated if buying a couple of items.
Katchikally Crocodile Pool
You will drive to the sacred crocodile pool in Bakau. Upon arrival, we have an inside visit of the traditional museum before walking around the pool. The local guides of the pool will give to you a brief explanation of the existence of the pool and explain to you how local people benefit from it spiritually.
Banjul City Tour
We head towards the capital Banjul, where the guide explains the history of the surrounding area and the city.

Your stop here to get lots of information on the culture, traditions, customs, and history of the country.
St. Albert’s Market
Proceeding into the capital we stop at St. Albert’s Market, which is a daily market that has clothes, crafts, food and many other African souvenirs that can be bought at very reasonable prices. Lunch is served at the New Bacchus Restaurant where you will find some of the best African dishes served buffet style. Enjoy while you are facing the beach with its breeze of the Atlantic Ocean.
Arch 22
Check out for a panoramic view of a city at Arch. This Arch was erected in honor of the July 22nd Revolution. The 37m high Arch is spectacular and a view of the whole city can be seen and its daily activities.
St Mary Anglican church
Gambia and Guinea were founded in 1935 and had been renamed the Diocese of the Gambia and The Rio Pongas by 1940. Today it is simply styled the Diocese of the Gambia, which is one of 17 dioceses in West Africa. You will stop here for a quick photoshoot
Assumption Catholic Cathedral.
Banjul Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Church located in Banjul the capital of the Gambia. Stop for a quick photoshoot.
Brikama Craft Market
Brikama is the second-largest city after Serekunda, and the Brikama woodcarving factory is the largest woodcarving factory in the Gambia. Approximately 200 woodcarvers sell their creations here and you can find various items made from different wood types. Later the guide will drop transfer you back to the hotel.
