Visit the Mosquee du Plateau
Your guide will pick you at the port at port terminal by at 8:30am and drive to Mosquee du Plateau. One of the largest Muslim religious sites in the country, Grande Mosquee du Plateau remains unfinished but open for visitors. Initiated in 1996 to create a place of worship for Plateau’s Muslim population, the mosque boasts a richly decorated facade and tall minarets, along with a blue dome and marble floors inside. Only men may enter the mosque.
Visit St Paul’s Cathedral
This Cathedral was designed by renowned architect Aldo Spirito. St. Paul’s Cathedral is a unique monument that serves as the mother church for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Abidjan. Its construction was completed in 1985 and since then it has been a major attraction of Abidjan in addition to being a house of worship. People marvel at the unique, futuristic structure and the sheer size of the cross-shaped tower
Civilization Museum
Here you will learn about Abidjan’s history and culture. The human and animal statuettes made from terracotta are extremely beautiful. There are also a number of wooden masks, Ivorian musical instruments and pottery items with the total collection adding to nearly 20,000.
Visit the Central Artisanal de la Ville
Drive to Centre Artisanal de la Ville, an artisan village with workshops selling a variety of handicrafts. Browse through Korhogo cloth paintings, batiks, loin cloths, jewelry, and folk art, and poke around the countless stands, huts, galleries, and souvenir shops. Observe craftspeople in their workshops and grab a meal at one of the huts serving food. Then drive back to the port where you will be dropped off.
