Eight Days Lesotho Vacation

The highlights of the vacation includes game drive in Addo Elephant National Park, Tour the historic town of Graaff Reinet, Visit the Drakensberg Mountains, City tour  of Lesotho- Malealea.

Day One: Arrival

Upon your arrival at the airport, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will welcome you and then transfer you to the hotel for the overnight.

Day Two:  Addo Elephant National park

After breakfast, you will meet the crew in Port Elizabeth early in the morning. Then go for game drive to the Addo Elephant National Park. It well- known for elephants after which it gains its name. Its recent expansion has made the Park the third largest of South Africa National Parks and its unique wildlife supports a wide variety of animals. Spend the whole afternoon in search for wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Aardvark Guest House.

Day Three: Graaff Reinet

This morning, you will go for the city tour in Graaff Reinet. In the evening, you will join in the sundowner excursion to the valley of Desolation. The valley offers a panoramic view of the town. Dinner and overnight at Acacia Guest House.
NB, during winter the sundowner activity will be taken in the morning of the following day.

Day Four: Lesotho to Malealea

For this morning, drive across the vast expanse of Great Karoo to the nestled heights of Lesotho. It is one of the countries in the world lying 100m above sea level. Its independent kingdom boasts the highest peaks of Southern Africa. Climb the camp set high in the mountains of Lesotho for overnight

Day Five: Lesotho to Malealea

Today, you will explore the mountain on foot. Check out for the community that calls the mountain home. The rarest community in the region are the Basotho. They are famous for their traditional hats, blankets, and their sturdy ponies which are renowned for their surefootedness in the mountains. There will be an optional pony trek to experience first-hand. Dinner and overnight at Twin Share Camping.

Day Six: Ukhahlamba/Drakensberg Park

You will depart Lesotho for the mountains of Drakensberg through the sandstone cliffs of Golden Gate. The Park is a UNESCO world recognized site. It is still known even if you mention it in the Zulu name ‘Ukhalamba- the barrier of spears’ or the Afrikaans name ‘Drakensberg- Dragon Mountains. Dinner and overnight at Giant’s Castle Camp.

Day Seven: Ukhahlamba/Drakensberg Park

Get up very early for a long hike through the Park. Our local guide will take you on this and on the way you will see examples of San rock art. Dinner and overnight at Giant’s Castle Camp.

Day Eight: Durban

After breakfast, depart for Durban. You will be transferred to the airport to fly back home.
