Eight Days Mali Adventure
This adventure will take you to Bamako National Museum, Africa Tower, the independency monument, the railway station, viewpoint point G, Segoukoro historical village, Soroblé bogolan center, Somono neighborhood , adobe mosque, sacred well, Tapama’s tomb, sand fishermen, statue of Samoury Touré, a waterfall, Arch of Kamadjan and the consultation cave.
Day One: Arrival in Bamako
Upon your arrival at Bamako international airport, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will welcome you and then transfer you to the hotel. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may go for the Bamako city tour and visit the National Museum, visit to a market, and the town’s landmarks like the Africa Tower, the Independency Monument, the railway station and viewpoint Point G. Dinner and overnight at The Sleeping Camel or Hotel les Colibris.
Day Two: Segou
After breakfast, you will head to the direction of Ségou. Visit to Segoukoro historical village, followed by a boat trip on the River Niger with visit to a fishing hamlet and have lunch on the boat. Later drop-off at Soroblé bogolan center for an impression of the production of mud-cloth, and a visit to the colonial neighborhood, to the cathedral and to a traditional millet beer brewery and do the beer tasting. There is also an option of visiting the pottery market to see the arrival and unloading of the pottery boats. Dinner and overnight at Résidence Djiguibombo
Day Three: Somono Neighborhood
On this day, you will go for the morning walk through the Somono neighborhood, then visit to the week market, try the local lunch (traditional Malian peanut sauce) is served at the compound of a local family. In the afternoon drive to San and visit the adobe mosque. The visits to the interior of the mosque is reserved for Muslims. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Teriya.
Day Four: Djenne
You will have an early breakfast and drive to Djenné. Wander through the old town along Koranic schools and mud structures, visit the sacred well, Tapama’s tomb, climb a rooftop for a good view on the Great Mosque. You will have lunch in the local restaurant tasting the regional dish called Tion Tion. Then after lunch, you will drive to Ségou and visits to the Great Mosque. Dinner and overnight at Résidence Djiguibombo.
Day Five: Bamako
For this day, you will drive back to Bamako. In the afternoon, visit the sand fishermen. Get on board for a river trip and overnight on an island. Dinner and overnight – Camping.
Day Six: Samoury Toure
On this day, we will visit the statue of Samoury Touré and set out on a walk to visit one of Bamako’s best kept secrets, a waterfall. Have lunch at the falls, where a refreshing bath can be taken as well. Dinner and overnight at The Sleeping Camel or Hotel les Colibris.
Day Seven: Manding Country
For this morning, you will depart for Manding country and visit the Arch of Kamadjan and the consultation cave and for a Dogon/Malinké mask dancing ceremony. Then drive to the hotel in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at The Sleeping Camel or Hotel les Colibris.
Day Eight: Fly Out
After breakfast, the guide will transfer to the airport to connect to your international flight back home.
